Safe in Moderation
Plain yogurt can generally be given to dogs in small amounts, but some dogs have difficulty digesting lactose and flavored or sugar-free varieties may contain unsafe ingredients.

Nutritional note
Yogurt can provide protein and calcium, but it is not necessary if a dog is eating a complete and balanced diet.

A small amount of plain yogurt is generally not concerning. If the product contained xylitol or another potentially toxic ingredient, treat that exposure separately and seek veterinary guidance promptly.
Why we say this
